Handy Hints – Personalised Face Charts

Saturday, March 20th, 2010 In Blog, Handy Hints, Tutorial / No Comments

xSparkage shows us how to create personalised face charts in this tutorial. If you are feeling creative, these are great for trialling out particular make-up looks, before you take to your face. We all have different face shapes, and different features, so what works on one person, may not work on another. These face charts are great for those of us that have trouble visualising how a look might appear once applied to our own face.

Face charts are also great when you have created the perfect look, and want to remember what you did and how you did it. Simply fill out one of these charts, and file it away until next time you need it.

Step One: Take a photo of yourself with no makeup on, and your hair pulled back.

Step Two: Convert the photo to a pencil sketch using an online tool such as Dumpr. Save the image.

Step Three: If you can, use a photo manipulation computer application which will allow you to ‘erase’ some of the additional detail on the photo. You want as clean a sketch as possible. At a basic level, you could use the ‘Paint’ application that is installed on most Windows PC’s.

Step Four: Print the sketch out, and take to it with your coloured pencils and crayons!

Two Colour Eyeshadow Creations #3 – FaceFront

Thursday, February 4th, 2010 In Blog, Tutorial / No Comments

Following on from the Two Colour EyeShadow Creations #1 and #2 blogs, EyeSpice has come up with some more Two Colour Creations, which means you can create both day, and evening looks using just 2 eye shadow colours. Of course, we do assume you have a few standard products that you can use in every look such as your trusty mascara.

This blog showcases some two colour examples specifically using Facefront Paint Me Perfect Eye Pigments.  Check out our other blogs specifically for Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics and Heavenly Naturals Cosmetics. OR, you can mix and match between brands for even more options. Enjoy!

The instructions for two colour creations in four easy steps:
Step One: As always, apply your eyeshadow primer first. We use FaceFront Survival Paint.

Step Two: Apply your chosen lid colour across the entire lid.

Step Three: Apply your crease colour to the outer corner of the lid, and blend it up into the crease. Also sweep this colour across the outer lash line of the lower lid using a thin tipped brush such as a Sigma SS219 or SS266.

Step Four (important): Blend the two colours on the upper lid with a blending brush such as a Sigma SS275. Blend the outer edges into your skin to create perfect diffusion.

Top the look off with some optional extras (that you should have in your makeup kit already)! We recommed:
- A line of Coastal Scents Gel Liner across the upper lash line.
- A smudge of Heavenly Naturals Chubby Cream Eyeshadow in White to the inner corner of the eye
- A lashing  of mascara to finish it off
